Scented Candles
Scented candles are made by adding perfume to the molten wax before it is poured into the mould.
When the candle is lit, the flame melts a wick pool and the scent will evaporate into the room. The effectiveness of this depends on a number of factors -
Different noses have different sensitivities and therefore some scents are more noticeable than others.
A high ceiling and large room diminishes the scent whilst circulating fresh air increases the scent.
The size and number of candles burning, and the amount of scent added.
Generally a scented candle will give a gentle background effect which will be most noticeable when entering the room.
Some scent will be given off even when unlit, and over time the surface of a candle may lose its scent.
